We at Troy Civic Theatre are very pleased to announce that our production
of “The Last Five Years” has been given three TANYS awards. The awards read
as follows:

Excellence in Vocal Music and Orchestral Direction to Daniel Galliher

Excellence in Vocal Performance to Michael Meier in the role of Jamie
Wellerstein

Excellence in Vocal Performance to Lauren Kerr in the role of Catherine
Hiatt

"The Last Five Years is a difficult score to perform, but Michael Meier and
Lauren Kerr sing with beauty and ease under the direction of Daniel
Galliher. They are a joy to listen to and, quite literally, music to the
ears."

Congratulations and thank you to the cast and crew for their hard work, and
to everyone who came out to support us and made “The Last Five Years” such
a success. Be sure to catch the last two performances of this award-winning
show on Saturday, February 9th, 2013, at 2 PM and 8PM.

The story explores a five-year relationship between Jamie Wellerstein, a
rising novelist, and Cathy Hiatt, a struggling actress. The show uses a
form of storytelling in which Cathy's story is told in reverse
chronological order (beginning the show at the end of the marriage), and
Jamie's is told in chronological order (starting just after the couple has
first met). The characters do not directly interact except for a wedding
song in the middle as their timelines intersect.
