The Theatre Institute presents...

She Kills Monsters

Written by Qui Nguyen | Directed by David Baecker

September 29 – October 7, 2023

James L. Meader Little Theater

She Kills Monsters tells the story of Agnes Evans as she leaves her
childhood home in Ohio following the death of her teenage sister, Tilly.
When Agnes finds Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, however, she finds
herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure
in the imaginary world that was her sister’s refuge. In this high-octane
dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and 90s pop
culture, acclaimed playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to
the geek and warrior within us all.

Recommended for ages 13+ and up.

She Kills Monsters, the first production of the Theatre Institute at Sage’s
2023-2024 season, is directed by Russell Sage College Professor of Theatre,
David Baecker. Professor Baecker is a member of Actors’ Equity Association
and has directed over 20 productions at Russell Sage.

Qui Nguyen's She Kills Monsters first premiered back in 2011, unleashing a
fusion of fantasy and theatre unto audiences. “Deceptively breezy and
rather ingenious. It will slash and shapeshift its way into your heart.” – The
New York Times.

Margiotta, Kyra Burris, Michael Keck, Phil Bruns, Saade White, Steffanie

planet?
