</SPAN>Based in Buffalo, the playwright's hometown, <B><I>Ancestral
Voices</I></B> was written to be performed in an informal reading, like Gurney's
<I>Love Letters.</I><SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Gurney's other
works include <I>The Dining Room, The Cocktail Hour, A Cheever Evening</I> and
