Culture Commission has announced a photo contest for amateur photographers in
town. Entries will be accepted between now and August 11, 2010 in the Office of
Parks, Recreation and Community Affairs.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: 12.5pt;">The theme for this year’s contest is “Rural Roots.”
Photographs should highlight the agricultural roots of <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Clifton</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Park</st1:placetype></st1:place>
as well as the support systems and historical sites related to the development
of the town. Photos will be judged on creativity, composition, content and the
inclusion of the theme.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: 12.5pt;">The Community Arts and Culture Commission will choose
13 winning photographs to be printed in a 2011 calendar. All winning
submissions will also be displayed at Historic Grooms Tavern during the town’s
Farm Fest weekend on Sept. 11-12. Visitors to the tavern at Farm Fest will be
able to cast their vote for the fan favorite photo, which will be on the cover
of the calendar.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: 12.5pt;">Contest rules are available at Town Hall in the Office
of Parks, Recreation and Community Affairs, online at <a href="http://www.cliftonpark.org">www.cliftonpark.org</a> and on the Community

Arts and Culture Commission. Last year’s contest included 13 submissions
totaling 24 photographs. The age of the participants ranged from 14 to 75. This
