Playwright Diane M. Doring is a resident of New York's Rensselaer County.  Her play, <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Holy Night</I>, was selected from more than 30 submissions to be part of Confetti Stage's annual Confetti Fest last month. The production was directed by Tim Orcutt (Scotia) and features Nate Beynon (Albany), Colin Gioia (Jonesville), Jody Kordana (Pittsfield, MA), Ryan McLaughlin (Albany), Tyler Petell (Sand Lake), Lukien Sheremeta (Niskayuna), and Eric Ward (Clifton Park).<o:p></o:p></SPAN></div>

<div style="LINE-HEIGHT: normal; MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Arial','sans-serif'; COLOR: black; FONT-SIZE: 10pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'">The story revolves around a struggling wife and mother, Maggie, living in Troy, NY in the 1940's. As the play opens, it is revealed that one of Maggie's sons, Jamie is seriously ill.  As the day turns into evening, she discusses the pending tragedy with her other sons, Bailey and Desmond, and with 2 unexpected guests.  Secrets surface and tension builds as last rites are read, yet hope remains for both Jamie and Maggie.  <br>

The production was one of eight stage productions and four short films (all 12 productions were written, directed, and performed by area artists) featured at Confetti Fest 6.  The Confetti Fest 6 production of <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Holy Night</I> was awarded the following awards:<br>
