Arial"> – Nacre, Saratoga Springs’ Modern Dance Company, will present a sparkling array of dance and musical accompaniment on March
1<sup>st</sup> at 7:30pm and March 2<sup>nd</sup> at 2:30pm at the SPA Little Theater.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<span style="font-family:Arial">This concert will premiere Artistic Director, Beth Fecteau’s, “Stabat Mater” set to music by the same name performed live by Octavo Singers of Schenectady under the Artistic Direction of Curtis Funk.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">
</span>This fifty piece choir will sing two selections from this larger choral work accompanied by Trevor Kalbaugh on keyboard and Leonard Tobleron on percussion.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">
</span>Fecteau auditioned additional dancers from the community to join Nacre Company members in the making of this newest work. This ensemble of 26 dancers (donned in Romanesque costumes created by area native and dancer Janessa Cornell) creates a dramatic
setting with strong movement and complex partnering reflecting the grandeur of the music.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">
</span>Fecteau also worked with area sign language interpreter Christine Neeley to learn the gestural interpretation of the lyrics for inspiration for her choreography. Neeley will be signing sections of the music throughout the piece to add an additional layer
to this premiere!<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span><o:p></o:p></span></p>

<span style="font-family:Arial">Fecteau will also present two works recently premiered at Hubbard Hall in Cambridge, NY. “Ny Verden/New World” is a collaboration between Fecteau and area poet Marilyn McCabe.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">
</span>This poem cycle set with music and dance for five dancers reflects on the human spirit of exploration and the costs of conquest. McCabe will be joined by area singers Joan Taub and Geneva Henderson as they weave their bodies through the dancers with
spoken word and song.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

</span>Fecteau and Hayes selected five movements from prolific German composer J.S. Bach's "Six Suites for Unaccompanied Cello," written in the early 18th century to accompany the eight dancers costumed in shades of wine created by area costume designer, Katherine
Patterson. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<span style="font-family:Arial">Will Hayes switches musical genres as he accompanies six dancers with music by Phillip Glass set to Dalienne Majors’ choreography. Dalienne Majors was selected by Nacre through a national selection process for the annual guest
choreographer position. Dalienne Majors is currently a dance teacher at “Spoke the Hub” and a teacher and choreographer at the Berkely Carroll School, both in Brooklyn. Ms. Majors has had a career that has taken her from the Julliard School of the Arts in
NewYork to the midwest and across Europe. She has choreographed such pieces as “<span style="mso-bidi-font-style:italic">Möbius”<i> </i></span>(1985/2012), “S<span style="mso-bidi-font-style:italic">ince fell” (2005),<i>
<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>“</i>Someone”<i> </i></span>(2007), and “<span style="mso-bidi-font-style:italic">Suspicious Spiraling Activity” </span>(2000). Having spent more than 40 years developing as an artist, Dalienne was looking to amplify and
reshape her previous work. She will be reconstructing <span style="mso-bidi-font-style:italic">
“Mobius”<i> </i></span>with Nacre on a larger scale in order to bring them closer to her original vision. “Mobius”<i> </i>is an exploration of the curious single sided surface of the same name. The performance's constant gliding motions will sweep audiences
into the heart of this strange loop. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

dancer Jennifer Scanlon. </span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:#262626">Limón regarded Isadora Duncan as his “dance mother,” and this series of solos evokes different periods of her life by intertwining aspects of both her artistic and
personal lives. Limón made one of the solos, “Niobe” (Mourning Mother), on Scanlon.
