Hubbard Hall Theater Company will present Molière’s comedy “Tartuffe,” directed by John Hadden, weekends February 20 through March 15.

Considered quite scandalous when first produced in 1664, “Tartuffe” is now is one of the most famous theatrical comedies by Molière. The character of Tartuffe is a scoundrel who can don any pose and become a master of it. Professing extreme piety, he is taken into the household of Orgon, a wealthy man. Under the guise of ministering to the family’s spiritual and moral needs, he almost destroys Orgon’s family. Hypocrisy gone wild. Religious posturing, deceit. Legal entanglements. Wonderful absurdity.

Cast includes Hubbard Hall favorites Doug Ryan (Tartuffe), Peter Delocis (Madame Pernelle), Tony Pallone (Orgon), Aleda Bliss (Elmire), Scott Renzoni (Cléante), Kim Johnson Turner (Dorine) and Benjie White (Monsieur Loyal); plus newer members of the company, Jack Boggan (Damis), Delaney Smith (Mariane), Digby Baker-Porazinski (Valère), Adam Shulman (Laurent/Officer) and Audrey Roosevelt (Flipote).

The play runs weekends from Feb. 20 to March 15 with performances on Fridays at 8:00pm, Saturdays at 2:00pm and 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm. (Please note the additional matinee offerings on Saturdays!) Tickets are $27 general admission, $24 members and $15 for students 11 and older.
