Kaufman’s comedy </span><i><span style='font-family:"Gill Sans MT","sans-serif"'>The Man Who Came to Dinner</span></i><span style='font-family:"Gill Sans MT","sans-serif"'>. The show runs weekends April 17<sup>th</sup> through May 3<sup>rd</sup> at the Spa Little Theater in the Saratoga Spa State Park. <span style='background:yellow;mso-highlight:yellow'><o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;text-indent:.5in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-family:"Gill Sans MT","sans-serif"'>In this Broadway classic, it’s Christmastime, 1938 in a small Ohio town when famed author and radio personality Sheridan Whiteside comes to dine at the Stanley family home. A slip on the ice outside lands “Sherry” in the Stanley’s living room for a tumultuous, six-week convalescence, filled with high comedy, low farce, and an array of eccentric, lovable characters.</span><span style='font-family:"Gill Sans MT","sans-serif"'><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;text-indent:.5in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-family:"Gill Sans MT","sans-serif"'>Monty Woolley, the original Sheridan Whiteside of the Broadway and film versions of <i>The Man Who Came to Dinner</i>, grew up in Saratoga Springs. He owned a home here and was given a key to the city on August 1, 1949. Woolley is buried in Saratoga Springs’ Greenridge Cemetery.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;text-indent:.5in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-family:"Gill Sans MT","sans-serif"'>The director of </span><i><span style='font-family:"Gill Sans MT","sans-serif"'>The Man Who Came to Dinner </span></i><span style='font-family:"Gill Sans MT","sans-serif"'>is </span><span style='font-family:"Gill Sans MT","sans-serif";color:black'>Dianne O’Neill Filer</span><span style='font-family:"Gill Sans MT","sans-serif"'> who</span><span style='font-family:"Gill Sans MT","sans-serif"'> has directed and costumed numerous shows around the world including HMT’s <i>The Jungle Book, Witness for the Prosecution, And Then There Were None</i> and <i>The 39 Steps</i>. She </span><span lang=EN style='font-family:"Gill Sans MT","sans-serif"'>has an MFA in Theater from Sarah Lawrence College and served on the Board of Cameo Theater and The Acting Company of Greenwich for many years. Dianne </span><span style='font-family:"Gill Sans MT","sans-serif"'>taught drama at Brunswick School and Greenwich Academy for 20 years and most recently taught art and drama at the Doane Stuart School in Albany. </span><span style='font-family:"Gill Sans MT","sans-serif"'> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;text-indent:.5in;line-height:150%'><span style='font-family:"Gill Sans MT","sans-serif"'>The cast of </span><i><span style='font-family:"Gill Sans MT","sans-serif"'>The Man Who Came to Dinner </span></i><span style='font-family:"Gill Sans MT","sans-serif"'>includes Gary Maggio as Sheridan Whiteside, Toni Anderson-Sommo as Lorraine Sheldon, Pat Brady as Mrs. Stanley, Joseph Bruton as Mr. Stanley, Ron DeLucia as Beverly Carlton, Mary Ellen Dowling as Harriet Stanley, Charles Fitz-Gerald as Dr. Bradley, Sal Fusco as Banjo, Robin Leary as Miss Preen, Amanda Martini-Hughes as Maggie Cutler, and Mark Todaro as Bert Jefferson. Rounding out the ensemble are Anne-Marie Baker, Natalie Baquero, Anthony DeMarzio, Emma Fuhrmeister, Michele Hill-Davis, Diane Madrigal, David Mann, Tom Moeller, Kate Owens, Ian M. Politis, Dennis Skiba, Terri Storti and Barry Streifert.
