Gurney, directed by David Baecker.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;line-height:200%"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Grande'"> Performances
will be held at Steamer No. 10 Theatre, 500 Western Avenue, Albany on Friday May
15 at 8:00 pm; Saturday May 16 at 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm: and Sunday May 17 at
3:00 pm. Admission is free.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:200%"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Grande'"> </span><span style="font-family:'Lucida Grande';color:rgb(38,38,38)">Amanda, a well-known TV actress, returns
to her hometown of Buffalo to portray Madame Ranevskaya in a production of <i>The
Cherry Orchard</i>. She seeks to boost her declining career, while the play’s
director hopes that her star power will improve sales at the struggling
regional theater. </span><span style="font-family:'Lucida Grande'">Like the sentimental character in the play, Amanda has come home to revisit
the world that shaped her. <span style="color:rgb(38,38,38)">There are surprises in
store as old friends turn up, and new offers from Hollywood beckon. </span></span></p>

Gurney plays that have been presented to appreciative Theater Voices
audiences. Included are <i>Later Life, The
Cocktail Hour, Ancestral Voices, A Cheever Evening</i>, and most recently, <i>Black Tie.</i></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;line-height:200%"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Grande'"> Theater
Voices is a group of dedicated actors and directors who, throughout
the company’s history, have presented both new and classic works with the
specific goal of emphasizing the richness of the playwrights’ language. Each
production is a fully performed staged reading, with minimal scenery and simple
costumes.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;line-height:200%"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Grande'"> Theater
Voices is is a not-for-profit organization under IRS 501C 3 and is funded in
part by the City of Albany and the New York State Council on the Arts COMMUNITY
