Johnstown will present Ron Hutchinson’s Hollywood comedy “Moonlight and
Magnolias” June 12-14 and 19-21. The
play is a semi-fictional account of the writing of the shooting script for “Gone
with the Wind,” which took place over five days in 1939. The show features Robert Houle as David O.
Selznick (the producer of the film), Steven Leifer as scriptwriter Ben Hecht,
Kevin Barhydt as director Victor Fleming, and Lisa Pfeiffer as Miss Poppenghul,
Selznick’s beleaguered secretary.</span></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-family:Palatino;color:rgb(26,26,26)"> </span></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-family:Palatino;color:rgb(26,26,26)"> John Birchler directs, and tickets
cost $12. Evening performances begin at
7 p.m., and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
