SCHENECTADY CIVIC PLAYERS</i></font><br><br>Just in time for the
Holiday Season, Joe Landry’s <i>It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live
Radio Play</i>, directed by Joseph Fava with musical direction by
Donald Mealy, opens Friday, December 4 and runs through Sunday,
December 13 at Schenectady Civic Players’ 12 South Church Street
playhouse in Schenectady’s historic Stockade district.<br><br>The
beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live
1940s radio broadcast. With the help of a five-actor ensemble that
brings at least three dozen characters to the stage, the story of
idealistic George Bailey unfolds one fateful Christmas Eve.<br><br>The
Chicago Sun-Times called it “One of the best holiday shows around.
This is a fresh and inventive way of reconnecting with a classic story
of love and redemption.”<br><br>The action takes place at Radio
Station WBFR in New York City on Christmas Eve, 1946. The entire play
is performed at two microphones, with all five actors taking part in
producing the sound effects and joining in carol singing and jingles
for the show’s sponsors.<br><br><font size="4" color="#009966">The
Civic Player’s cast features Jennifer Bullington, Robert L. Hegeman,
Amy M. Lane, Richard Michael Roe, and Tom Templeton.</font><br><br><font size="4"><i>It’s
a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play</i> runs Friday, Saturday and
Sunday (December 4, 5 & 6) and Wednesday through Sunday (Dec. 9
through 13). Wednesday and Thursday curtains are at 7:30 pm; Fridays
