MEASURE”<br>OPENS MARCH 11 AT SCHENECTADY CIVIC PLAYERS</font><font size="5"><br></font><br>SCHENECTADY
– William Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure, directed by Aaron
Holbritter, opens Friday, March 11 and runs through Sunday, March 20
at Schenectady Civic Players’ 12 South Church Street playhouse in
Schenectady’s historic Stockade district.<br><br>The Duke of
Vienna announces that he has been called away from the city and that
he is leaving Lord Angelo to rule in his place with full authority. He
disguises himself as a friar and observes the moral decay of his
citizens. The play deals with issues of justice, morality, and mercy
and their relationships to virtue and sin.<br><br>Measure for Measure
is known to have been performed by Shakespeare's company at the Court
of James I on December 26, 1604. It is generally presumed to have been
written in the same year.<br><br><font color="#330099">The Civic
Player’s cast features Robin MacDuffie (as Duke Vincentio), John
Sutton (as Escalus), Jean Carney (as Provost), Kasey Kenyon (as
Elbow/Abhorson), Andrew Vroman (as Angelo), Sara Paupini (as Mariana),
Laura Graver (as Isabella), Samuel Lawkins (as Claudio), Sierra Lynch
(as Juliet), Ian LaChance (as Lucio), Rich Angehr (as The Friar),
Jennifer Van Iderstyne (as Mistress Overdone), Richard Michael Roe (as
Pompey), Bill Sanderson (as Froth), and Gene Sinotof (as Bernadine).</font><br><br>Measure
for Measure runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday (March 11, 12, & 13) and
Wednesday through Sunday (March 16 through 20). Wednesday and Thursday
curtains are at 7:30 pm; Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm; and Sundays
