This is the question posed by an ancient tale, but retold now with a modern twist. </font>On Sunday, May 21 at 2pm, Town Players of Pittsfield offers a very special presentation by Richard Matturro of his novella "Alcestis" at the Whitney Center for the Arts, 42 Wendell Avenue, Pittsfield. This is the last in a series of readings Matturro has done for Town Players from his collection "Porch of the Maidens," which has recently been released as a 6-CD audio book and which will be available for sale at the reading. </font></div>

<div style="font-size: medium; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"><font size="3">Matturro is a native of Rye, New York, and holds a doctorate in English with a specialization in Shakespeare and Greek Mythology. He spent sixteen years at the Albany Times Union and another twelve teaching literature at UAlbany. Admission is $10. The two-hour program will include one intermission and will be followed by a reception with refreshments.</font></div>
