SYNOPSIS:On his 50th birthday, Martin, a world-famous architect
prepares for a recorded interview by an old friend in the TV business;
but in the course of the conversation a secret emerges that threatens
to turn celebration to tragedy. Edward Albee's black comedy offers a
fascinating look at the limits liberal society can be pushed to, and
asks the audience to question their beliefs, to examine their own
bigoted views and reconsider their judgement of matters that may or
may not be considered socially taboo.
Available Roles:Martin : a celebrated architect in his 50’s. Kind,
preoccupied. An observer of his own life. Actor should appear in the
age range: 45-70.Stevie : Martin’s confident and witty wife, clearly
a woman in her element at the play’s start. Actress should in the
age range: 45-70. Ross : Martin’s longtime friend, and a good friend
to Stevie as well; he is obviously fond of both. We wonder if his
sharing Martin’s information was self-serving. Actor should appear
in the age range 45-70.
