Position: Sound Technician<br>

Bennington College seeks a Sound Technician to work closely with <br>
music faculty, students and IT staff. The Technician will be required <br>
to provide technical assistance and maintenance for Bennington's <br>
music recording studio, mixing studio, electronic music studio, <br>
computer/MIDI based music composition workstations and for the <br>
miscellaneous sound needs of the music faculty. Responsibilities also <br>
include supervising live recording and sound reinforcement of campus <br>
music presentations, troubleshooting student technical problems, <br>
responding to faculty requests, managing Music and Sound Design <br>
student workers, and providing basic support and instruction in <br>
equipment use.<br>
<br>
A thorough knowledge of Mac OS X and Mac networking and the ability <br>
to maintain Mac systems is required, as is facility with Protools- <br>
based acoustic studio recording and associated DSP plug-ins, MIDI <br>
production, Finale software and Max/MSP. Also needed are strong <br>
skills in troubleshooting and maintaining computer-based audio and <br>
MIDI systems as well as setup and operation of live sound systems. <br>
Experience with professional microphones and analog/digital recording <br>
equipment in a recording studio environment is also required. A <br>
Bachelors Degree is recommended. This is a full-time position during <br>
the academic terms (8 months each year), with benefits.<br>
