style='font-size:10.0pt'>Shakespeare’s Macbeth is one of his most potent
tragedies, a story of ambition, greed, and betrayal that is just as
consequential today as it was in Shakespeare’s time. A war hero and a member
of the Scottish nobility, Macbeth rises to the throne through cunning, deceit,
and what becomes an endless round of bloody murders. He is goaded on by his
wife, whose power is limited only by the limits of her female station, and his
fate is guided by the enigmatic, and disastrous, prophesies of three mysterious
witches. Macbeth’s rise to and fall from power exhibits both the depth of
human greed and the guilt that will just as readily haunt those who fall to it,
depicting the dark side of our own human natures in gruesome and compelling
detail.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
