RPI Players to audition musicians for the Pit Orchestra of City of Angels<br>
<br>
Troy, NY — 6 February, 2007 — The RPI Players will be holding auditions <br>
for the Pit Orchestra for their spring musical, City of Angels on 13 <br>
February 2007, in the RPI Playhouse on 15th street in Troy, NY. The <br>
Players are seeking the following instruments: Trumpet, Trombone, Alto <br>
Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet and Keyboard. All musicians <br>
should be prepared to sight-read from the score, and no additional <br>
preparation is necessary.<br>

The RPI Players 258th production, City of Angels will appear on April <br>
20, 21, 26, 27, 28 at 8 PM. There will also be a matinée performance on <br>
April 22 at 2 PM. Performances will be held in the RPI Playhouse.<br>
<br>
City of Angels takes place glamorous 1940s Hollywood. While trying to <br>
maintain his artistic integrity and marriage, a young novelist, Stine, <br>
is attempting to write a screenplay for fast-talking Hollywood producer, <br>
Buddy Fidler. As he creates the story about a private detective, Stone, <br>
the characters of Stine's imagination come to life on stage. Beautiful <br>
socialite Alaura Kingsley hires Stone to find her missing stepdaughter. <br>
The stepdaughter ends up showing up naked in Stone's bed. Soon, Stone is <br>
beat up by a bunch of hoodlums hired to get him off the Kingsley case. <br>
In the end, though, Stine confronts his sell-out, alter ego Stone and <br>
the manipulative Buddy and quits the project. After regaining his <br>
dignity, he is able to regain the love of his wife and all ends well.<br>
<br>
The RPI Players is a student run community theatre on the campus of <br>
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.<br>
