<P><FONT size=2>Auditions for Ghent’s 2009-2010 season opener, <SPAN style="TEXT-DECORATION: underline">BELLES</SPAN>, will be held Monday and Tuesday, June 29 and 30 at the Playhouse. Sign-in begins at 7:00 PM. Performance dates are October 9 through October 25, 2009.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT size=2><SPAN style="TEXT-DECORATION: underline">Belles</SPAN> is a play about six Southern sisters who hail from Memphis and manage to stay in touch in spite of being scattered all across the country. Each sister, while nurturing her own independent neurotic life, has a fierce, dysfunctional bond with her other siblings. They maintain contact totally through the phone lines, and the dialogue is poignant, funny and thoroughly engaging.</FONT></P>
<P style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><SPAN style="TEXT-DECORATION: underline"><FONT size=2>Character breakdown:</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P><FONT size=2><STRONG>Peggy </STRONG>- about 40, rooted in Memphis, the oldest sister, caregiver and dispenser of family news.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT size=2><STRONG>Aneece</STRONG> - about 37, lives in Philadelphia, single businesswoman, drinks a lot more than she cares to acknowledge.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT size=2><STRONG>Roseanne</STRONG> - about 29, lives in Atlanta, preacher’s wife, mother of two, is in crisis and can’t articulate her dilemma.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT size=2><STRONG>Audrey </STRONG>- about 32, lives in Collierstown, MS., married with no real children, aspires to a country singing career. </FONT></P>
<P><FONT size=2><STRONG>Sherry Dust</STRONG> - about 30, lives in Elk Run, WA, single, changes names and free-wheeling lifestyles at will.<BR><BR><STRONG>Paige</STRONG> - about 19, single, a college student in Austin, TX, treats dating like a varsity sport.</FONT></P>
