She is a native of Haiti, and she and her husband Clarens' families have been personally affected by this tragedy. <BR> <BR>Geraldine is organizing the "CAPITAL REGION HOPE FOR HAITI GALA", sponsored by and taking place at the Century House on Saturday February 6, 2010, 6-10PM. There's not much time to pull this together. She is seeking performers of all kinds to help make this an exciting and successful event. All performers will be considered.<BR> <BR>Location and food will be provided by Century House. There will be a cash bar. To help create a festive atmosphere she is seeking acts that can stroll and pop up for a performance at any spot in the room.<FONT color=#7030a0> </FONT><STRONG><EM><U><FONT color=#7030a0>COLORFUL </FONT><FONT color=#ff0000><FONT color=#7030a0>COSTUMES</FONT></U> ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED</EM></STRONG></FONT><FONT color=#000000><STRONG><EM><FONT color=#00b050>!!!</FONT></EM></STRONG>:</FONT><BR> <BR>SINGERS(groups or single, a capella or lightly accompanied)<BR>DANCERS(There will be lots of dancing! Geraldine and Clarens are professional dancers. Clarens teaches dance at Arthur Murray)<BR>JUGGLERS<BR>ACROBATS<BR>SMALL ACTING GROUPS(NO SETS)<BR>STORYTELLERS(perhaps someone who can put together some traditional Haitian folk tales?)<BR>ARTISTS(painting demonstrations, face painting, etc.)<BR>SELF-CONTAINED ACTS<BR> <BR>ANY OTHER IDEAS ARE ENCOURAGED AND WILL BE AND GRATEFULLY CONSIDERED!!!<BR> <BR>The comittee is courting the press for this event, but if anyone can help in this area, please conact Geraldine.
