Pulitzer Prize winning comedy set in the 1940s. The play tells the story of
Elwood P. Dowd, an affable yet eccentric man who is kind to everyone he meets.
Of course, he also introduces everyone to his imaginary friend, <st1:place
w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Harvey</st1:City></st1:place>, a six-and-a-half
foot rabbit. After embarrassing his sister, Veta, at a high society function by
“sharing” <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Harvey</st1:City></st1:place>
with the socialites, Veta tries to have Elwood committed to a sanatorium. In a
comic turn of events, Veta is the one who is committed – if only
temporarily! As the rest of the plot unfolds, Elwood’s kindness and
generous heart begin to overpower everyone’s fears about his imaginary
– and lovable – friend, Harvey. <o:p></o:p></p>
