Arial'>Capital Repertory Theatre’s Summer Theatre At the Rep (S.T.A.R.)
program is a 5-week summer theatre intensive (based on New York State Education
Department’s Learning Standards for the Arts) that allows up to 30 area
youth (aged 11-16) to explore the world of theatre. Students work with
professional artists to develop their own original work, gaining skills in
writing, costume and set design, dancing, acting, and singing, and the program
culminates in a series of performances offered free to the community.
Participants learn to work cooperatively with each other and with professional
staff – right in the theatre. S.T.A.R. 2010 will explore the theme
of Art & Technology! Field trips are being planned to EMPAC (Experimental
Media and Performing Arts Center) and Vicarious Visions Game Studio.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
