<P ALIGN=JUSTIFY><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Capital Repertory Theatre is still accepting registrations for their Summer Theatre At the ‘Rep (STAR) program. STAR<SPAN LANG="en"> is a 5-week summer theatre intensive (based on New York State Education Department’s Learning Standards for the Arts) that allows up to 35 area youth (aged 12-16) to explore the world of theatre. Students work with professional artists to develop their own original work, gaining skills in writing, costume and set design, dancing, acting, and singing. The program culminates in a series of three performances offered free to the community on August 5, 6 & 7th. Participants learn to work cooperatively with each other and with professional staff – right in the theatre. STAR 2011 will explore the theme of Social Networking.</SPAN></FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=JUSTIFY><SPAN LANG="en"><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">STAR program starts on July 5 and runs Monday through Fridays through August 5, with performances at Capital Rep on August 5, 6 & 7. Program hours 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, with extended care hours available. Tuition for the 5-week theatre intensive is $850. Families that register before May 1<SUP>st</SUP> will receive $50 off the tuition fee. Limited need-based scholarships are available. </FONT></SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Established fourteen years ago by Producing Artistic Director, Maggie Mancinelli-Cahill, STAR programs have served over 600 children of the Capital District and have helped further the careers of many young actors and theatre practitioners. </FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en"> <FONT FACE="Times New Roman">STAR 2011 will be administered by Capital Rep Education Coordinator Laura W. Andruski and directed by Kristen van Ginhoven, Co-Artistic Director of Women's Action Movement theatre company. Ms. Van Ginhoven is an actress/director who specializes in transforming personal diary into theatrical works. <P><SPAN LANG="en-us"><B><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">About KRISTEN VAN GINHOVEN.</FONT></B><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman"> </FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en"> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Kristen van Ginhoven, STAR’s Playwright/Director is a director, actor and educator originally from Canada. She is co-Artistic Director of WAM Theatre, based in the Capital Region of NY and the Berkshires of MA, which uses theatre to benefit women and girls. Recent US credits include Barrington Stage Company, Actor's Shakespeare Project, Huntington Theatre, Cohoes Music Hall, Theatre Voices and MOPCO. She has taught theatre internationally in Brussels, Belgium and is a freelance artist for the International Schools Theatre Association (ISTA). For ISTA she has travelled to places such as Thailand, China, Europe, and India. She holds an MA from Emerson College. </FONT></SPAN></P>

ANDRUSKI.</FONT></B><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman"> </FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> </SPAN><A HREF="mailto:LWAndruski@aol.com"><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Laura W. Andruski</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"></SPAN></A><SPAN LANG="en-us"></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en"></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman"> has been a theatre professional for over 25 years. She received her B.A. in Theater/Communications from Rider University, and is currently a graduate student enrolled in Goucher College's Master of Arts in Arts Administration program. Prior to her Capital Repertory Theatre appointment, she was employed as the Program Manager for the Department of the Arts (iEAR Presents!) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Laura previously served as the Associate Program Director for the ’62 Center for Theatre & Dance at Williams College. As the Assistant Director of the Swig Arts Center on the Campus of The Peddie School, she developed several summer arts programs in the visual and performing arts for children ages 6 – 18, including the award-winning “Stars of Tomorrow Showcase”. Laura is a trained facilitator for Secondary Schools Shakespeare Festivals from the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C. </FONT></SPAN></P>
