for their mainstage production of Much Ado About Nothing by<br>William Shakespeare to be performed November 9th, 10th, 11th, 16th and<br>17th of 2012 and our Spring Musical Curtains with a book by Rupert Holmes,<div>lyrics by Fred Ebb, and music by John Kander to be performed</div>
<div>April 19th, 20th, 21st, 25th, 26th, and 27th of 2013. Performances will be </div><div>in the RPI Playhouse on 15th Street in Troy, NY.<br><br>Much Ado About Nothing:</div><div>Much Ado About Nothing is a comedy written by William Shakespeare</div>
<div>about two pairs of lovers, Benedick and Beatrice, and Claudio and Hero.<br>Benedick and Beatrice are engaged in a very "merry war"; they both talk</div><div>a mile a minute and proclaim their scorn for love, marriage, and each other.</div>
<div>In contrast, Claudio and Hero are sweet young people who are rendered</div><div>practically speechless by their love for one another. By means of "noting"</div><div>(which sounds the same as "nothing," and which is gossip, rumour, and</div>
<div>overhearing), Benedick and Beatrice are tricked into confessing their love</div><div>for each other, and Claudio is tricked into rejecting Hero at the altar.</div><div>However, Dogberry, a Constable who is master of malapropisms, discovers</div>
<div>the evil trickery of the villain, Don John. In the end, Don John is captured</div><div>and everyone else joins in a dance celebrating the marriages of the two</div><div>couples.</div><div><br>Curtains:</div><div>Based on the original book and concept by Peter Stone, the musical is a</div>
<div>send-up of backstage murder mystery plots, set in 1959 Boston, </div><div>Massachusetts and follows the fallout when the supremely untalented star</div><div>of <i>Robbin' Hood of the Old West</i> is murdered during her opening night</div>
<div>curtain call. It is up to a police detective who moonlights as a musical</div><div>theatre fan to save the show, solve the case, and maybe even find love</div><div>before the show reopens, without getting killed himself.</div>
