<p> </p><p>Audition Location: The RensselaerNewman Foundation’s Chapel + Cultural Center, 2125 Burdett Ave, Troy</p><p> </p><p>Audition Time: 7pm until 10pm</p><p> </p><p>Description:</p><p> </p><p>The play follows the story ofArthur Kipps, a junior solicitor, as he journeys to the small market town ofCrythin Gifford to attend the funeral of a client, Mrs. Alice Drablow. At thefuneral, he sees a young woman with a wasted face, dressed all in black,standing in the churchyard.</p>
<p>Bemused by the villagers' reluctance to speak of the woman in black, Arthur goes to Eel Marsh House, Mrs. Drablow'sformer abode, an old building in the middle of a marsh, cut off at high tide.Sorting through Mrs. Drablow's papers, he finds a box of letters, andultimately discovers the dreadful secret of the Woman in Black – to his own terrible cost. Now he's hired an actor to help him warn others of what he's learned - before it's too late. </p>
<p> </p><p>Cast:</p><p> </p><p>Arthur Kipps - Late 30s to early40s. Somewhat nervous; not confident onstage. Greying hair preferred but not required. Average height and build. </p><p> </p><p>Actor - Late 20s to early 30s. Veryconfident, almost cocky. Average height, average to athletic build. </p>
