living in Milwaukee in the 1920s.<span style>  </span>Both
are survivors of the killings and mass deportations that took place in the
Ottoman Empire while World War I raged in Europe.<span style>  </span>When a street boy comes into their lives, the
scars they bear—both psychic and physical—are forced into the open.<span style>  </span>With deep humanity, gentle humor and
unexpected twists, this award-winning play ultimately offers hope, and the

old-world tradition, and is determined that his young wife will bear him many

late teens.<span style>  </span>A young bride, new to
America, awed and frightened at first, but with an irrepressible sense of humor

12-13.<span style>  </span>A street kid, brash, confident
