<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:'Lucida Grande'">Aram and his young mail-order bride Seta are Armenians
living in Milwaukee in the 1920s.  Both
are survivors of the killings and mass deportations that took place in the
Ottoman Empire while World War I raged in Europe.  When a street boy comes into their lives, the
scars they bear—both psychic and physical—are forced into the open.  With deep humanity, gentle humor and
unexpected twists, this award-winning play ultimately offers hope, and the
promise of redemption.</span></p>

old-world tradition, and is determined that his young wife will bear him many
children to replace the family he lost.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:'Lucida Grande'">Seta</span></b><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:'Lucida Grande'"> – should appear to be
late teens.  A young bride, new to
America, awed and frightened at first, but with an irrepressible sense of humor
and independence.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:'Lucida Grande'">Vincent</span></b><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:'Lucida Grande'"> – should appear
12-13.  A street kid, brash, confident
and cocky, and hungry.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:'Lucida Grande'"> </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:'Lucida Grande'">Gentleman</span></b><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:'Lucida Grande'"> – the narrator.  Middle to late middle age.  Avuncular, articulate. (He is Vincent,
grown).</span></p>
