the night before a class assignment is due, Caroline, homebound and critically
ill, and Anthony, a popular and exuberant high school student, explore the
mysteries of Walt Whitman's <i>Leaves of Grass</i>. Initially cautious,
they become willing to risk sharing their deepest fears and greatest hopes,
leading them to a moment of reckoning in which they must fully understand
Whitman's line "your very flesh shall be a great poem.</span><span style="font-family:'Lucida Grande';color:rgb(26,26,26)"></span></p>
