<font color='black' size='3' face='Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif'><span class="fsl">On Tuesday, June 9 and Wednesday, June 10, Town
Players of Pittsfield will hold auditions for a staged reading of
"Proof" by David Auburn, directed by Matthew T. Teichner at the Whitney
Center for the Arts, 42 Wendell Avenue in Pittsfield. Sign in will begin
at 7pm and auditions will start at 7:30pm. Actors should present a
short monologue (drama or comedy). If needed, some monologues will be
available. Memorization is not required. Sides from the play will also
be provided.<br>

The play concerns the main character Catherine,
the daughter of Robert, a recently deceased mathematical genius in his
fifties and professor at the University of Chicago and her struggle with
her own mathematical genius and mental illness. Catherine had cared for
her father through a lengthy mental illness. Throughout, the play
explores Catherine's fear of following in her father's footsteps, both
mathematically and mentally and her desperate attempts to stay in
control.<br>

Catherine (Female age 25-30 or one who can play that range)<br>
Claire (Female age 30-35 or one who can play that range)<br>
Hal (Male age 25-30 or one who can play that range)<br>
Robert (Male age 55+ or one who can play that range)<br>
