<p>Technical Director/Scenic Designer</p>

<p>Russell Sage College and the Theatre Institute at Sage seeks applicants for a technical director/scenic designer and teacher with employment starting August 2015.</p>
<p>Duties will include coordinating all technical elements of all productions, as well as supervising students and intern crews during design, build, and performance phase of each production. The candidate must demonstrate a strong knowledge of common theatre practices. This includes design and preparation of a theatrical production (scenery/props) and working closely with the director and designers of each production. Candidate will manage and adhere to production budgets. The candidate will also mentor and assist with student projects as needed.</p>
<p>Additional duties will include the teaching of one or two college level technical theatre classes (eg. StageCraft or Scenic Design), maintaining safe work conditions in the scene shop and theaters as well as inventorying and maintaining equipment and materials.</p>
<p>The candidate should be very proficient in set construction, design and show proficiency in design software. A strong level of competence or be willing to learn in areas outside their primary technical focus is desirable. A collaborative and open attitude is highly desirable. Knowledge and implementation of safety standards and controls are a must. This is a salaried position with benefits.</p>
