in September of 1937 in Brighton Beach, NY. The narrator, Eugene Morris Jerome,
is a 15-year-old who dreams of baseball and girls and has aspirations of
becoming a writer. He must cope with the seemingly mundane existence of his
family life, which include his older brother Stanley; Kate and Jack, his mother
and father; and his Aunt Blanche and her two fetching daughters, Nora and
Laurie, all of whom are now living under the same roof. </span></div>
