auditions for the upcoming AYW production of <i>She Kills </i>Monsters by Qui Nuygen, directed by Rob Stewart. The
following is a note from the director:</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:107%;font-family:"times new roman",serif;background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial">-A comedic romp into
the world of fantasy role-playing games, She Kills Monsters tells the story of
Agnes Evans as she leaves her childhood home in Ohio following the death of her
teenage sister, Tilly. When Agnes finds Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook,
however, she stumbles into a Journey of Discovery and action-packed adventure
in the imaginary world that was Tilly’s refuge. In this high-octane dramatic
comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and 90s pop culture,
acclaimed young playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the
geek and warrior within us all.</span>-<span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:107%;font-family:"times new roman",serif"><span></span></span></p>

<p class="gmail-MsoNormalCxSpMiddle"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:107%;font-family:"times new roman",serif"><b>Auditions will be held this Sunday May 7^th
at 2:00pm and Wednesday May 10^th at 7:00pm.</b> Both auditions will take
place in the <b>RPI Playhouse</b>. Audition will consist of the cold reading of sides
as chosen by the director.</span></p>

<b>Agnes Evans:</b> (F, mid 20s) Tilly’s older sister, high school teacher
dealing with Tilly’s death, described as average, clueless to nerd culture;
stage combat involved<br>
<b>Chuck:</b> (M, late teens to mid 20s) Runs a comic book store, grunge
rocker roadie, assists Agnes in learning Dungeons and Dragons<br>
<b>Miles:</b> (M, mid 20s – early 30s) Agnes’s boyfriend, as average as
Agnes<span></span></span></p>

<b>Orcus:</b> (M, late teens) Dungeons & Dragons character, Overlord
of the Underworld, lazy demon that has given up defending his treasure in favor
of watching TV and snacking on Easy Cheese<br>

<b>Vera:</b> (F, mid 20s – mid 40s) Guidance Counselor, Agnes’s friend at
the high school, sarcastic and saucy<br>
<b>Mage Steve:</b> (M, late teens) Dungeons & Dragons character, super
nerdy spell caster, several death scenes involved as a running gag in the play<br>
<b>Farrah:</b> (F, 20s – 30s) Fairy that lives in a forest, kind of a
jerk; stage combat involved<span></span></span></p>

<p class="gmail-MsoNormalCxSpMiddle"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:107%;font-family:"times new roman",serif"><b>Show dates for the production are September
22^nd, 23^rd, 24^th, with Tech Sunday on September
17th.</b> Though all are welcome to audition, <i>all performers must be available
these four days.</i> Students and community members are encouraged to audition.
Please note that many roles in this show will require training with a fight
choreographer.</span></p>

<p class="gmail-MsoNormalCxSpMiddle"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:107%;font-family:"times new roman",serif">Performers will be expected to make
themselves available physically or via the internet for read-throughs over
summer.  Additionally, performers will be
asked to return/remain in Troy for the month of August when blocking rehearsals
shall begin.<span></span></span></p>
