<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">The Albany Academies Musical Theater Summer Camp is seeking a musical director for its upcoming production of
<i>Seussical, Jr.</i> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">There are nine total work/rehearsal days. The dates are June 24 – 28 and July 1 – 5. (No rehearsal on July 4.) The hours are 8:30 – 4:30 every day and you must be available the entire time. There is also
a 7:00pm performance on the final Friday. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Job responsibilities include:<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Teaching group and solo musical numbers to campers.<o:p></o:p></span></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Operating the backing tracks during rehearsals and performances.<o:p></o:p></span></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Engaging with and being a positive role model for the campers, which includes several counselor-type supervision duties.
<o:p></o:p></span></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Participating in and sharing leadership responsibilities for group activities, workshops, and games.<o:p></o:p></span></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Being flexible and willing to adapt to the needs of the camp throughout the fast-paced rehearsal period, which may mean assisting on tasks beyond the
musical direction.<o:p></o:p></span></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Attend a short camp orientation in mid-June.<o:p></o:p></span></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Be willing communicate with staff in the evenings in order to prepare plans each day.<o:p></o:p></span></li></ul>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Candidates should be 18-years or older and have experience working with younger children (ages 8 – 14). Candidates do not need to accompany the show on piano, but they should have the skills to competently
play vocal lines and provide basic accompaniment as needed. The ideal candidate will also plan dynamic and engaging music rehearsals, with an understanding that younger children may need to move a little in order to stay focused.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Pay rates are hourly and are set by The Albany Academies Summer camp. Pay may vary based on education and experience.
