A blizzard hits NYC taking out all forms of wired communication. Stranded by the blizzard and with little to do to amuse themselves, Frank and Marjorie Balanchine, a married couple, resort to eavesdropping on the couple downstairs through the register vent in the floor of their NYC walk-up apartment building. Hilarity, thieving and murder ensue in this madcap two-act comedic farce written by Michael C. Mensching and directed by Michael McDermott, as the action progresses and builds floor-to-floor in the overlapping flats of the apartment building.</div><div><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><b>The Register</b> had a debut as a one-act play during the Playwright's Showcase at Albany Civic Theater in 2018. After a successful series of workshop reviews it has been expanded to a two-act comedy by Michael C. Mensching, former President of Schenectady Light Opera Company and former Artistic Director of Albany Civic Theater. The play will be produced in a fully staged production by Troy Civic Theater, <b> October 4,5,6 and 10, 11, 12, 13 </b>at the Arts Center of the Capital District under the direction and design of Michael McDermott.</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Rehearsals will be held Monday, Thursday and Fridays with allowances made for actor conflicts. Some parts have been precast with the following parts open for actors of all types:</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><div><p class="ydpdd11c69fMsoNormal" style="margin-left: 3.5in;"><b><u>Pam Jeffries</u>:</b> A
struggling actress in her early 20’s with a flair for the dramatic. She and her boyfriend Dennis live in the
first floor apartment of a NYC apartment building.<br></p>
<p class="ydpdd11c69fMsoNormal" style="margin-left: 3.5in;"><b><u>Faith</u>:</b> Anthony’s
dim witted girlfriend and daughter of a NYC mobster. She is in her early 30’s. She is a 1930’s caricature of a gun moll
dumped into 1985.<br></p>
