In Eurydice, Sarah Ruhl reimagines the classic myth of Orpheus through the eyes of its heroine. Dying too young on her wedding day, Eurydice must journey to the underworld, where she reunites with her father and struggles to remember her lost love. <br></span></span></div><div><span class="gmail-_5yl5"><span><br></span></span></div><div><span class="gmail-_5yl5"><span>Characters: <br></span></span></div><div><span class="gmail-_5yl5"><span><br></span></span></div><div><span class="gmail-_5yl5"><span><b>Eurydice (F) </b>Young, recently married and very much in love. <br></span></span></div><div><span class="gmail-_5yl5"><span><b><br></b></span></span></div><div><span class="gmail-_5yl5"><span><b>Her Father (M)</b> Older, died a long time ago and managed to retain his memories in the Underworld. <br></span></span></div><div><span class="gmail-_5yl5"><span><b><br></b></span></span></div><div><span class="gmail-_5yl5"><span><b>Orpheus (M)</b> Young, musician, recently married, would do anything to regain his lost love. <br></span></span></div><div><span class="gmail-_5yl5"><span><b><br></b></span></span></div><div><span class="gmail-_5yl5"><span><b>A Nasty Interesting Man/The Lord of the Underworld</b> (M) Based upon Hades, this man pursues Eurydice both before and after she travels to the underworld. This actor must be able to portray multiple ages. <br></span></span></div><div><span class="gmail-_5yl5"><span><br></span></span></div><div><span class="gmail-_5yl5"><span><b>A Chorus of Stones:</b> M or F- Citizens and chorus of the underworld. These actors must use their voices and body movements while they act on stage. Each of the three stones may be played by one or more actors. These parts have a plethora of lines and stage time.

Auditions are Dec 1 and Dec 4 – Sign in at 6:30, auditions begin at 7 at the Albany Masonic Temple. Actors may attend both dates, if they wish.
Rehearsal dates are from Dec – Feb (with time off for the holidays) and take place at the Albany Masonic Lodge at 67 Corning Street in Albany.
Mandatory tech week is Feb 1 – Feb 6.
Show dates are Feb 7, 8, 9 and 13, 14, 15, 16.
