Bushwa is a modern American adaptation of Alfred Jarry’s 1898 political satire, Ubu Roi, about a selfish, belligerent, and intellectually-challenged king. Like the French original, Bushwa is a free-wheeling comedy that pushes the boundaries of taste.  BUSHWA has been updated to skewer both a certain American president and the avant garde theater movement - the show is as childish and offensive as the administration it mocks.  

An ensemble of eight actors plays over thirty characters, props, and set pieces.  The cast includes Randy Harlow, Carolyn Maroney, Charles Treadwell, Ovella Snow, Tia Crawford, Valerie Portanova, Ken Degon, and Nate Beynon. 

Confetti Stage, Inc continues to present Capital Region premiere of John Morgiello’s Bushwa: A Modern Ubu through Sunday May 13th including performances at 8pm on Friday (May 11) and Saturday (May 12) and 2pm matinee performances on Saturday (May 12) and Sunday (May 13).  Performances take place at the Arts Center of the Capital District at 265 River street in Troy.  General Admission tickets are available for $10 on our website at www.confettistage.com or by calling 518-253-1253.   Half-Priced tickets are available for any Mother that attends on Sunday May 13th (Mother's Day).  Reservations are strongly recommended.
