[Capdist-announce] Burkina Electric Arrives a Week from Today!

[iEAR Presents]

iEAR Presents! will host Burkina Electric on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at
7:30PM in West Hall Auditorium on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute. Burkina Electric brings new concepts to African music and Western
club electronica by infusing computer-based performance with rhythms and
other elements of traditional music from the Nation of Burkina Faso. The
group also creates new rhythms influenced by traditional grooves, and uses
sounds of traditional instruments and found sounds and soundscapes recorded
in Burkina in unusual ways. It is truly African electronica, both
experimental and entertaining. The performance is further enhanced by the
use of live-manipulated video.
