WAITING FOR JOE, a new one act play written and directed by Leigh
Strimbeck, with Michael Benoit and Bill Hennings will perform on Sept.
4,5,6 at 8:00pm in the Proctors 440 Upstairs Theater.

WAITING FOR JOE is a contemporary take on the classic play WAITING FOR
GODOT, written by Samuel Beckett in 1954. In WAITING FOR JOE two high
school boys find themselves waiting for a mysterious stranger who has
promised to bail them out of a bad situation. The play deals with issues
of peer pressure, friendship, and modern methods of bullying and teenage
communication.

This show will appeal to high school and college students, as well as
adults - who will be afforded a rare glimpse into the world of
contemporary teenage mannerism and interactions when adults are not
present. The play does contain some mature language and content. Anyone
under the age of 14 should be accompanied by an adult.

Leigh Strimbeck is a professor of acting at SUNY Albany and an Artist in
Residence at Russell Sage College in Troy, where she recently wrote
MIRROR MIRROR - an original work about women, body image, and the
pressure to be perfect.

Tickets can also be purchased at the Proctors Box Office (Tel. 346-6204).
