CLASSIC THEATER GUILD, INC. PRESENTS...
* * POP-UP PLAYS and NEW PLAY FESTIVAL * *
POP UPS: Fri 2/1, 7-9pm
Join us in an evening of comedy, anarchy and thought-provocation in the
spirit of Punxsatawney Phil!
Plays will pop up in these venues in the Lark Street (Albany) area as
part of the First Friday art celebration.
This event is free to the public.
PLAY FEST: Sat. 2/2 & Sun. 2/3
Includes works by local authors, including two full-length plays, a
one-act and a reprisal of the “pop-ups”. See below.

Atheists, pizza dudes, Mormons, cheating wives... two couples create 11
situations from the same 7 words.

“Die Dixie Die” by Justin Alvis
Romaine-Brooks, 332 Hudson, 8:40 p.m.
A fed-up postal worker breaks into an apartment to use it as a staging
ground for an assassination.

“My Littleton Play” by Richard Morell (Staged Reading)
2 p.m., Saturday February 2nd
A speculative autobiography of absence, in response to the Columbine
Massacre.
Act I- Pop-Up Plays, Act II - “Authors” by Julie Demers (Staged
Reading)
8 p.m., Saturday February 2nd
A reprise of the Pop-Up Plays, followed by an exploration of writers’
frustrations across time.
“Diva of the Year” by Edward Bablin (Staged Reading)
2 p.m., Sunday February 3rd
Even Heaven must change with the times and tries out a new reality show
format for new arrivals.
