This special workshop will focus on how to construct an Old Time or
Bluegrass Mandolin solo 

in order to make your mandolin sing like the singers in the band.  We will
cover some essential 

major, minor and “modal” chord forms required for a firm foundation in a
bluegrass or old time band. 

With whatever time we have left, we will touch on double-stop and tremolo
techniques.

½ mile east of the blinking light in Averill Park.

The Squire Jacob Concert Series is funded, in part, by the New York State
Council on the Arts, a state agency, and also by the Town of Sand Lake.

Sand Lake Center for the Arts - Circle Theatre Players, 

is a not for profit community arts center.  

The Center is a renovated, historically significant 1835 church 

with a fully equipped open performing space for theatrical productions, 

community meetings, concerts, workshops and classes; and is available for
rent.

The light-filled Gallery boasts original stained glass windows 

and exhibits artists' work monthly and is open on Sundays from 1-4pm. 

The Gallery and Cafe are open one hour prior to events.

Volunteer opportunities abound and can be yours by contacting

The Center is air conditioned, handicapped accessible and has free parking.
