      Pot Luck Play Reading

      Dinner and an open reading play
      -- Neil Simon's "Last of the Red Hot Lovers"
      -- Pot Luck Dinner at 6:30
      -- The play at 7 PM
      -- Other Pot Lucks are planned

      This Thursday, November 13th, at 6:30 PM, theater lovers will gather at the Playhouse for an informal evening of fun socializing.

      A Free event at the Schenectady Civic Playhouse, located at 12 S. Church Street in the historic Schenectady Stockade district. Call 382-2081 or email potluckplays at civicplayers.org to attend. 
     

      Neil Simon's "Last of the Red Hot Lovers" 
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      "Last of the Red Hot Lovers" has a cast of one man and three women. Parts are up for grabs, and can be changed from scene to scene. You can be in the audience and not read at all. 
      The play centers on gentle Barney Cashman, middle aged and married. He meets three "other women" - a sexpot who likes cigarettes, whiskey, and other women's husbands, an actress friend who he discovers is seriously crazy, and his wife's best friend, a moral woman. 

     

      Pot Luck Dinner at 6:30

      If your schedule allows, come join our popular pot luck dinner. In the spirit of "pot Luck", any dish is welcome but we do appreciate knowing that you are coming. You can come to the pot luck and not stay for the reading.

      Can't come for dinner? Come be a part of the play reading anyway. 
      Copies of scripts are provided. If you have your own copy of "Last of the Red Hot Lovers", please bring it. This is your chance to read a part you always wanted to play, but never got the chance to. 

     

      Other Pot Lucks are planned 
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      December 8th (Monday) the pot luck play is Peter Anderson's "Mystery Cycle Part 2 - Nativity" with a comparison to passion plays written in the middle ages.
      This play features a large cast with parts for both men and women.
