42ND ANNUAL FENCE SHOW
 
The 42nd Annual Fence Show is open to all artists who are members of the Arts Center at the time of delivery of their artwork. The membership fee may be paid at the time artwork is delivered or in advance. All media are eligible for entry; however, work that has previously been exhibited at The Arts Center will be excluded. A maximum of three (3) works may be submitted. Paintings and works on paper should be framed, wired and ready to hang. Due to the popularity of the exhibit and space constraints, if artwork is more than 30” in any direction, artists are limited to two works.  Again this year, a special category allows schools to enter up to five (5) works per school.  Awards will be announced at the opening reception on Friday, June 26th.  Sarah Cunningham, Director of The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) Art, will jury the Fence Select and award $500.00 in cash and other prizes. A President’s Choice Award, which entitles one artist to a solo exhibition in the President’s Gallery in the coming year, will also be selected.  
 
Artwork for the Annual Fence Show, which will run through July 12th, may be delivered to The Arts Center of the Capital Region, 265 River Street in Troy on Friday, June 12 from 11:00AM to 5:00PM, Saturday, June 13 from 10:00AM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, June 15 from 10:00AM to 7:00PM. Riverfest Street Painting – Chalking on Saturday, June 20th

The Arts Center’s Street Painting Competition is an annual Riverfest tradition, sponsored by The City of Troy, River Street Merchants and the Troy Downtown Collaborative.  On Saturday, June 20th, the sidewalks of Troy at Monument Square are transformed into works of art where artists compete for cash prizes - $500.00 is awarded by a committee of judges and $500.00 as the "People's Choice" awards.  Registrations are now being accepted.  Spaces are extremely limited. The cost is $10.00 per person. Call 518.273.0552 to register for the Street Painting – Chalking event.
