                  REHEARSAL FOR MURDER
                  Opening Friday, May 8th

Schenectady, NY - April 15, 2009 - The Schenectady Civic Players (SCP) announce their final production of this season, Rehearsal for Murder, presented at the Playhouse May 8-10 and 13-17. Was it suicide or murder? And if it was murder, who did it? That's what playwright Alex Dennison is trying to find out a year later, when he reunites the cast from the opening night of his play, Chamber Music, which opened and closed the night his fiancee, Monica Welles, died.

Rehearsal for Murder was adapted by Brooke from the teleplay by Richard Levinson and William Link which stars Robert Preston, Lynn Redgrave, Jeff Goldblum, and Patrick Macnee.

Pictured here are Stephanie G. Insogna, Laural Hayes, Jason Biszick and Robert L. Hegeman.

In this intriguing mystery, Alex Dennison gathers his "usual suspects" and traps them in an empty theater where they are supposedly reading through his latest play. But, to quote Hamlet, this "play's the thing" in which to catch the conscience of a killer. Monica Welles, the beautiful film star who was attempting to make it on the legitimate stage, appears in flashback scenes.

Join us at the Playhouse to find out how the interesting plot twists finally culminate in an ending that will surely surprise.
