CLASSIC THEATER GUILD INC. CLOSES ITS 2009 MAIN STAGE SEASON WITH CHARLES LUDLAM’S LOVING STAGE 'TRAVESTY,' "CAMILLE," AT
440 UPSTAIRS AT PROCTORS : ***FINAL WEEKEND***
SCHENECTADY - On May 29-31, the Classic Theater Guild Inc. presents the FINAL WEEKEND of its 4th main stage show of the season, "CAMILLE," at the 440 Upstairs at Proctors in Schenectady, NY.
"CAMILLE," by Charles Ludlam, is directed by Richard Morell.
Friday and Saturday performances start at 8 PM, and Sunday performances begin at 2:00 PM.
"CAMILLE" centers around the sad story of courtesan Marguerite Gaultier (played by John Quinan), and her beloved Amrmand Duvalm (played by Derrick Maul). This piece stretches the limits of gender bending and tragic story telling spun in a wonderful web of Ridiculous Theater! "CAMILLE," first mounted in1973, reveals the old fashioned tale of the fallen woman torn between true love and fast living. Ludlam’s words provoke an extraordinary commentary on sex roles, and the relation of art to life, creating a world of silliness contrasting deep emotional truth.
Please join us for a generous dose of frivolity, gender bending and irreverence at 440 Upstairs at Proctors. Truly a must see for anyone longing to smile through their tears.
440 Upstairs at Proctors is located at 440 State Street in Schenectady, NY. Tickets are $15 for adults, and $12 for Seniors, Children ages 12 and under, and groups of 10 or more.
To purchase tickets or for more information, please contact Proctors Box Office at (518) 346-6204, or www.proctors.org
