CLASSIC THEATER GUILD INC. BRINGS A TOUCH OF BEDFORD FALLS TO 440 UPSTAIRS AT PROCTORS  WITH IT’ S A WONDERFUL LIFE THIS HOLIDAY

SCHENECTADY -  Coming this December to 440 Upstairs at Proctors, is the Classic Theater Guild Inc.’s 2nd piece of their 2009 - 2010 main stage season, It‘s A Wonderful Life.   This holiday the Classic Theater Guild Inc. welcomes you into a world where hope and real life humanity is revealed to us ten fold, to relate and reflect on our own lives and the state of the world today.

It’s A Wonderful Life opens Friday, December 4th, 2009 directed by Thomas Dalton Bambury. The show runs through the weekends of December 4th - 6th, and December 10th - 13th.  Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances start at 8 PM, and Sunday performances begin at 2:00 PM.

It’s A Wonderful Life centers around the character of George Bailey played by Josh Gray.  Christmas Eve 1946 finds the character of George in a deep state of depression, lingering on suicidal.  Prayers for George are heard by the angels, prompting the character of Clarence Odbody, played by Kevin X. McNamara to arrive to earth to save him. This powerful, yet truly holiday classic, poses the age old question, what would the world be like if you hadn’t been born and never existed?  George is confronted with this question head on, and learns the error of even  questioning it at all.  George is forced to witness all the intrical facets of the lives he has affected, and is awakened to discover how much darker of a world it would have been without him in it.  This work graciously makes one aware of the importance of life, and each action one takes to make a mark in the world.  A truly beautiful experience for the holiday
season, and for anytime of year to remind us all to appreciate every moment we encounter together.

So settle in with the Classic Theater Guild this holiday at 440 Upstairs at Proctors to take a beautiful look at humanity and our own selves. 440 Upstairs at Proctors is located at 440 State Street in Schenectady.  Tickets are $16.50 for adults, and $13.50 for Students, Seniors, and groups of 10 or more.  For more information please contact Proctors Box Office at (518) 346-6204 or www.proctors.org  The Classic Theater Guild Inc. is an all - volunteer 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) tax exempt charitable organization.
