[Capdist-announce] Sylvia, on stage at Class Act Productions November 20 hrough November 22

Class Act Productions is delighted to announce the second show of their inaugural season Sylvia, by A.R. Gurney.  Directed by Eric Shovah, the cast is led by Greg Dodds in the role of Greg, Laura Tortorici as Kate, Brian Avery as Tom/Phyllis/Leslie, and Heather D’Arcy as Sylvia. Sylvia is set in modern day Manhattan and explores the relationship between a man, his wife, and their dog. Greg’s wife Kate gets very angry when Greg brings home a new pooch to the house – Sylvia. Kate instantly gets jealous of the relationship between Greg and Sylvia. This play brings a whole new meaning to ―man’s best friend.
 
A.R. Gurney is best known for his Pulitzer prize nominated play Love Letters which recently saw runs locally at Spotlight Players and Curtain Call Theatre.   The production staff includes Adam M. Coons as producer/assistant director, Marlene Countermine as assistant producer, Kara DiCaterino as the stage manager, Eric Shovah and Ray Burns as set designers, Jim Mackenzie as light designer, David Tinkham as wig designer, Daniel Galiher as music director, and Debbie Lummis as costume designer. 
 
The production of Sylvia opens on November 20 and runs through November 22., 2009, Fri. & Sat. @ 8:00pm and Sat. & Sun. @ 2:00pm.  Performances are held at The Hilton Center for the Performing Arts, 40 N. Russell Road, Albany, NY  12206. (Located next to the Westgate Plaza on Central Ave.  Turn onto N. Russell Rd. and proceed to the end of the road.  The theatre is located in the plaza next door to New Music.). This is a change from the original dates listed, so please mark your calendars. Seating at the Hilton Center is extremely limited so please call to order your tickets in advance. Tickets are available for 10 dollars by  calling 248-2618 or emailing  classactproductions at live.com.
