Party! Not just us.a wide variety of local businesses, organizations, and
agencies are joining together to turn the length of Madison Avenue between
Lawrence and Allen into a neighborhood celebration on Saturday, October 3rd,
from 11 am to 3 pm. It's the third annual Taste of Madison!

Madison Avenue will be closed to traffic from W. Lawrence to S. Allen and
the roadway and surrounding neighborhood will be the site of many fun free
activities and entertainment, including music, art exhibits, a scavenger
hunt, a waiters' race, a bicycle polo demonstration, parachute play, a
public chess tournament, and much more!  The Bookmobile, an Albany fire
truck and the St. Peter's mobile dental clinic will also be on hand.

Participants can also purchase a "Tasting" ticket ($10 day of/$8 in advance)
to support the event and sample a variety of food, services and products
donated by area merchants (including Steamer No. 10 popcorn!). 

Steamer No. 10, the City of Albany, Pine Hills Neighborhood Association, New
Albany Neighborhood Association, Manning Boulevard Neighborhood Association,
and Friends of the Madison are working with area businesses and
organizations to plan this event as part of an effort to promote the Upper
Madison neighborhood. Money raised from Taste of Madison will go toward
additional promotion of the area.
