RPI Players Call for Directors for their 81st Season!
Troy, NY - April 6th 2009 - The RPI Players are looking for directors
for their mainstage productions of Noises off by Michael Frayn to be
performed November 12th, 13th, 14th, 19th and 20th of 2010 and our
Spring Musical 1776 by Peter Stone and Sherman Edwards to be performed
April 29th,30th, May 1st, 5th, 6th, 7th. Performances will be held in
the RPI Playhouse on 15th Street in Troy, NY.

Noises off Synopsis:
In his plot for Noises Off, Frayn plays on the concept of a play
within a play, in this case a dreadful sex comedy titled Nothing
On—the type of play in which young girls run about in their underwear,
old men drop their trousers, and many doors continually open and shut.
Nothing On is set in "a delightful 16th-century posset mill"[2][3]
that has been converted to a modern dwelling for which renters are
solicited; the fictional playwright is appropriately named Robin
Housemonger. Each of the three acts of Noises Off contains a
performance of the first act of Nothing On.[4]

1776 Synopsis:
American history blazes to vivid life in this unconventional Broadway
hit. It's the summer of 1776 and the nation is ready to declare
independence...if only the founding fathers can agree! "1776" follows
John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Richard Henry Lee, and Thomas Jefferson
as they attempt to convince the members of the second Continental
Congress to vote to free their fledgling nation from the shackles of
the British monarchy by signing the Declaration of Independence.
