CAPITAL REGION PRMEIRE OF ARMANDOS

SCHENECTADY --- During August on Friday nights in the Underground at
Proctors space, MopCo is continuing with the short form first act, Instant
Movies and Play Doh, and, in the second act, we are presenting a Capital
Region first -- Armandos -- the Armando is a long form named after its
creator, Armando Diaz.   

In the Armandos form in Act II, an audience suggestion leads to a monologue,
which then snowballs into a series of short scenes by the improvisers. It's
a fast-moving, story based format that can turn a simple story inside out,
upside down, and put it all back together again in wonderful ways. 


Instant Movie:  A suggestion for an Instant Movie title is solicited from
the audience.  Immediately, improvisers rush out the door, camera and tripod
in hand.   Kamikaze film making, someone called it; a heck of a lot of fun,
we call it.

Play Doh:  Audience members can be found crowding around a table in the
house carefully crafting little people, animals, and mythical creatures.
The show begins on screen, as the Play Doh characters come to life in the
hands of the improviser/puppeteers.  It's all over in three or four minutes,
and we go on to the rest of act two.
