Coming to 440 Upstairs at Proctors, is the Classic Theater Guild Inc.’s 3rd
piece of their 2009 - 2010 main stage season, Reckless. This dark comedy
stage play dives head long into the ever burning question of “how well do you
ever really know someone?” The Classic Theater Guild escorts you on a
twisted ride to learn the dark, fiercely unpredictable truth.
Reckless opens Friday, February 19, 2010
directed by Amanda Stankavich and assistant directed by Michael Silvia. The
show runs through the weekends of February 19th – 21st, and February 26th
– 28th. Friday and Saturday performances start at 8 PM, and Sunday performances
begin at 2:00 PM.
Reckless centers around the character of
Rachel, played by Schenectady native, Jennifer Bullington. The show opens with
Rachel looking out the window into the dark starry night of Christmas Eve
regaling us with the many cheerful memories she re- creates for us through her
words from Christmas Eve’s past. Her
husband Tom, quiet on the bed, played by Patrick Rooney, throws her the
ultimate curve ball, once revealing he has taken a hit out on her life. Stunned, and not able to comprehend such a
thing, Rachel is thrown head long into the most insane of circumstances as she
runs for her life out into the snowy night with nothing but her night gown and
slippers. She is picked up and
befriended by Lloyd, played by Dan Martin, and welcomed into his house with his
deaf, paraplegic wife, Pooty, played by Patricia Leighton. And so this dark comic tales begins filled
with many twists, turns, and a little bit of dysfunctional Christmas sprinkled
along the way. An additional
accompaniment of multiple roles are played by actors Emmett Ferris, Lori Porter
Snow, and Lucy Breyer including such characters as therapists, game show hosts
and derelicts, Rachel meets along the way.
So come
join the Classic Theater Guild in this wild, unpredictable ride of truth,
insanity, and survival at 440 Upstairs at Proctors. 440 Upstairs at Proctors is
located at 440 State Street in Schenectady.
