     Oscar Wilde's lively and timeless social satire, An Ideal Husband, evolves around blackmail and political corruption, and touches on themes of public and private honor. Everything seems perfect about Sir Robert Chiltern - respected politician, adored husband, and paragon of virtue - that is until a scheming woman with the key to his shady past threatens to reveal a scandal that could destroy his reputation and his marriage.  The play sparkles with witty repartee and quotable one-liners.  As Mr. Wilde writes: "In the world there are only two tragedies.  One is not getting what one wants, and the other is getting it." 

     The cast, with many Capital District veteran performers, includes Elizabeth Bartlett, Meighan Carivan-Esmond, Amy Daisak William Daisak,, Bill DePew, Jennifer S. DePew, Marc Destefano,  David DiPaola, James Gavin, Lonnie Honsinger, Jonathan Janssen, Joan Justice, Linda Lim, Randy McConnach, Melissa Putterman-Hoffmann, William M. Sanderson and Sarah Wasserbach.
